Dogs Destined to be Boiled Alive for Dinner are now Being RESCUED!!!!

It's so hard to believe that in today's day and age that this practice of torture and murder would still be a reality and considered a 'normal' behavior in many parts of the world.

Much of the world views dogs as trusted pet companions and family members, but in some parts of the world they suffer terrible abuse as victims of the dog meat for human consumption trade.

South Koreans are believed to consume somewhere between 1.5 million and 2.5 million dogs every year. Keep in mind this is just in South Korea.

South Korea has industrialized its dog-meat trade. Each year, more than 17,000 dog farms, some of them raising more than 1,000 animals each, supply 2 million dogs to meet the country’s centuries-old appetite for dog meat, according to government data.

At current rates, an 80-pound dog goes for $250. They transport the dogs in cages so crowded they can barely move or even suffocate before they arrive at slaughterhouses for electrocution and torture.

Animal rights groups estimate that 30 million dogs, mostly stolen or feral, are killed each year for their meat in Asia, and in countries such as China and Vietnam.

Animal rights groups hope the campaign to free more dogs will boost public awareness about the animals’ plight ahead of the Winter Olympics in South Korea in 2018, when the country will be more sensitive to its international image.

Forced to endure deprivation and unimaginable torture from the moment they are born until the day they are slaughtered/murdered and tortured, dogs are imprisoned in cramped, filthy, raised cages all their lives with no protection from extreme weather.

They get no water, exercise, companionship or medical care, and they never feel the ground beneath their feet. Their eardrums are often burst to prevent them from barking and often they are debarked due to the noise level they produce due to the torture.

In broad daylight, often in front of other live dogs, they are sentenced to watch other dogs be electrocuted, hanged, beaten, have their throats slashed, or are boiled or burnt to death.

This is a profit-driven, tax free, unregulated industry that aggressively promotes the myth that eating a dog enhances male virility and stamina.

Koreans claim that the more a dog suffers, the better the meat is. So many dogs are sadistically made to experience extreme fear and suffering prior to death.

Cats are frequently boiled alive to make health tonics, too. This is NOT only a dog meat industry.

The demand is so high in South Korea that 20% of the dogs eaten there are now imported from China.

South Korea is the only country known to have large, intensive farming systems to supply the demand for dog meat.

Any dog can fall prey to the dog meat industry. Yellow dogs, black dogs, brindle dogs, white dogs etc...abandoned former pets, purebreds, show dogs, unwanted puppies from puppy mills, shelter dogs, sick dogs, and even Jindos (classified as a “National Treasure” in Korea)—all of these can end up as dog meat in Korea.

Dogs on dog farms are pumped full of antibiotics and medicines {often injected with the use of dirty needles}

It is the only way to keep them alive and free from disease because of the terrible conditions they live in.

However, “Consuming meat concentrated with high level of antibiotics will cause severe toxic effects in the human body, and will cause endocrine disruption in the long term and eventually lead to cancer and diabetes.” – Dr. Tae-Yo Ha, HankookIlBo, 7/4/11. No one should feel safe eating dog meat.

Our Celebrity Ambassador, Miss Jane Park Smith has just adopted a Jindo from the Korean dog meat trade.

We love that Miss Jane is using her celebrity and LOVE for animals as a way to help bring awareness to the atrocities these beautiful, innocent animals face.

This is the link to her story and the RESCUE of CONTESSA BEAR SMITH (“TESSA”)

My reason for writing this blog is too:

1. EDUCATE people whom might not understand just what is happening in the world regarding this subject.

2. Congratulate and support Miss Jane Park Smith

I hope this has served as a source of EDUCATION for many.

Hugs
